Everyone has to be a newbie at some point. As Saint points out in his post, some people are just warez-mongers with a bad attitude. We need to make a distinction between that kind of person (we can do without) and a someone who is genuinely interested in the hobby with good intentions who just happens to be starting out.
For the most part I see pretty good people here. I think most of us here that are truly fascinated by the arcade controls/emulation scene as a hobby like playing the games, but more importantly are capturing a snapshot in time...
No matter what you're into, there will always be some people who "taint" it for you, but then just as bad as "newbies" are those elitest types who feel because they discovered something before others they are somehow entitled to it more and try to keep others away...
: Like any other good thing, the people involved in this 'hobby' used to be a small group of reasonably clued up enthusiasts. But now the masses have discovered it.. its downhill from here, folks. No offence, but the masses are irritating.
