Sounds like youve got the joystick hooked to the wrong set of arrow keys. Since every keyboard hack is differant its hard to say if your keyboards arrow key and number pad arrow keys are hooked to the same place but that is where I would check first. I dont know anything about keyhook or what it does so that could be a problem (or not??). You should be able to turn the number lock off and it should work in MAME32 if you have it wired to the wrong arrow keys.

: I am very close to completing my MAME cab and have found a very annoying bug that I am sure can be overcome.

: Using Keyhook (Thanks!) I have created a controller with Happ joysticks and a KB matrix. While in Keyhook everything is fine. Joystick 1 is wired to use the direction keys, Keyhook proves this is working!

: When I go into Mame32, mame thinks the joystick is assigned differently. By this I mean, Mame32 has assigned the direction keys to player 1 up, down etc etc by default. The joystick will not work, If I go into "Input (General)" and assign 'Joystick1 UP to Player1 up, mame sees it as 'Pad8', Down as 'Pad2' etc etc.

: When these are assigned, everything works fine until I restart the PC or mame, I then have to do it all again.

: Please help me somebody, I have spent alot of time on this project, the cabinet is looking really good, and apart from this problem I am really happy.

: It'll seem a waste to take a chainsaw to it in anger!!!!
