: : Ok first off, for anyone who is going through the hell that I am; this may be a way to say it how it feels for all of ous who have been dicke*. Anyways if you have any plan on making a arcade controller! FORGET IT.

: : Ive sat here and gone through keyboard hacks, Gameport connections and console video game controllers and found they all fall short of being anything but great.

: : Any access to real professional design just blows as the outcome isnt that great. And spending the time, the hell of construction and ordering the parts is not worth it; as well as how each princible design of going into the keyboard with the problems of GHOSTING, or the gameports FREAKING LIMITATIONS OF A FEW BUTTONS or any other interface like USB or Parellel all have RESTRICTIONS - RESTRICTIONS - RESTRICTIONS!!!!!

: : And when you will pay money, which some of ous who wont fuss have paid for a Hotrod SE or a Stick-It, which is not so reasonably priced, becasue if anyone has actually looked at those prices and DONT DENY it have coughed a little hard at its price! I mean come on anything over 100.00 bucks is kinda just ripping ous all off to relive a past.

: : I mean I love to enjoy classic gaming, but the price we pay for a decent or at least a fair chance at creating a great controller it always fall short, unless you really know your electorincs or have spent so much cash in your own errors like I have, before jsut going out and just buying one have I relived the hell of building a Mame controller to experience my past at one hell of a price.

: Perhaps you should take a look at keyboard encoders. They do not suffer from ghosting as keyboard hacks do. They take Zero electronics knowledge to hook up and both Happ Controls and Andy (IPAC) have been most helpful to their customers from what I have read on this board.

: I think most of us are glad such a site as this one exists to help us build our cabinets and controls. In my own opinion, half the "fun" is building it yourself. Forgive me but any shmoe can go buy something like HotRod(which is a very nice set of controls) but you don't get the experience of doing it yourself and that to me is a big loss.

Sorry meant Hagstrom not Happ. Was just looking at coin mechs on Happs website.
