Make a Win98 Boot Disk.
Boot (CD on or off your choice)
Type Format C: /S
This will format C with DOS 7 and make it bootable.
You will need to copy any DOS utilities from the Boot Disk or a working Win98 Machine.
: Hi,
: I have set up a computer to be placed in a "Mame Machine", so I use ArcadeOs and want to run it in pure DOS mode. I now ise DOS 6.22, which says partition smaller than 2Go, no long filenames... The pb is that if you want to place all, let's say 37B7, roms on a hard drive, you need more than 2Go so you must have 2 partition and this sucks and a simple set up. That's why I am thinking of setting up a "pure" DOS 7.0 and not a well know GUI off Win9X. I first used files from the Win98 boot disk but there are so many files missing for a painless DOS working that i gave up. Then I installed back Win98 SE and started deleting unnecessary files but I am not really sure about what to keep and what to wipe.
: So my question is: has any of you made a simple DOS 7.0 set up which could be documented or uploaded somewhere (stated that, of course, we would need a registered version of matching MS Windows ;o)
: TIA
