: Is ArcadeOS for DOS-Only systems, (I know it probably is appreciated better) or can a Windows 95/98 system get benefit from it?

You can run it under windows just fine. I am still using the last version and need to upgrade to the new version to see what all the hub bub is all about. The reason people use dos is because of less cpu overhead. Even when you have nothing running but Mame, windows still uses up some cpu time that Mame would otherwise have. Also once in a while you may get strange speed up and slow downs. I plan on having Windows 98 on my cab but having it boot to dos and ArcadeOS and then if I exit out of ArcadeOS, windows will then boot up so I can update the roms over a network (Yes I am lazy and proud of it!). If I am done playing, I just shut off the machine.
