Here is how I did it.
I put dowels in the base...by that I mean where the panel rests on the frame of the cabinet, I put 1/4" x 1/2" dowels so they stick up. Then all of my control panels have alignment holes in the bottom which align with the dowels on the cabinet.
To hold the panel securely in place, I use panel clamps which are on most games already. You can get these from Happs or from you local hardware store.
