Hmm, good to know but... after buying all the cables, a powerfull amp... and a powersupply to run the 4ohm amp (they work much better in 4ohm mode) its over 60$.
I tried to power the first set of shakers using the home system... but the power needed to make them shake the most - almost blew my home speakers! How would you limit the power to the regular speakers? I then purchased a 3amp 12volt powersupply from radioshack - to power a cheap car amp I had lying arround... Even this was more expensive.. and it still didnt have enough kick without jacking up the volume too much. Maybe the amp wasnt powerfull enough... ?
Anyway, the amps that come with the shakers are specialy designed for the things. They convert the power into 4ohm output, and also have:
- Individual volume (shake-intensity!) control
- A switch for either low, or mid range response
- A Filter dial for the level of the range to use
They operate flawless without distortion... (a problem that I originally had becuse of the special frequencys that the shakers would or wouldnt handle too well)
If anyone has a good way to power car sterwo equipment - besides a car batery... Im currious.
But all in all - you cant beat the under $60 pricetag for all that you get in this hassle frr package. I had mine up and shaking in 10minutes or less.
Did I say these thing are the Best?!! Go get em now! You wont regret it! :)
