Well, shoot, if that's all yer worried about, I can do a bunch of the artwork for the screenshots. I even think I remember a link with fonts from popular 80's arcade games and stuff which can be used for each game.

The tricky part of course is getting all the detailed instructions and data everybody would want on the screenshot screen... One potential problem is if you want to include details about which buttons to push and whatnot as everyone will probably have a different control panel setup. I think it would be nearly impossible to include that kind of detail in a slew of screenshots and still please anybody.

In thinking about the large scheme here, it might be better to simply create basic details and instructions about the game (i.e. Game name, release date, producer, objective, and maybe basic instructions like (uses joystick, jump button, and fire button) rather than specifics like 'press red button on left for fire and green button on right for jump'.

Gee, now I'm up to 4 cents... :)

: : Yep, I thought of that one too. In fact if nothing else easier surfaces I might create a image with the instructions and make it as the backdrop for Game Info in ArcadeOS. Only problem is I hate creating tons of custom pictures. Very time consuming. And they take up more space, but if everyone did a few...

: : : I like the idea. Now for my 2 cents...

: : : I know in MAME, you can save a screenshot for each game, so that when you highlight the game on the menu, the game shot shows up. Why not use a custom image with game data at that point? That way, anybody who wants to have a looksee can, and those who don't can ignore it. A nice effect might be to save the screen shot image, fade it a bit, then overlay the game details over top.

: : : Haven't tried it yet though... :)

: I would be more then willing to help out such a project.
