Make sure you remove any line from your config.sys file that says DOS=Single.
Also, If the line c:\windows\win.com /wx is in your autoexec.bat remove it as well.

This happens when you specify a configuration for a dos application to use (normally through it's PIF settings) and then something prevents the application from terminating normally. Windows replaces the config.sys and autoexec.bat files to run the special config for the application and the originals don't get put back properly.

: : The same thing happened to me when I tried to run PhatLinux. Anyway the way I fixed it was was to hit the key to go into safe mode and deleted the dos program that it kept trying to run (you could just move or rename it if you want). After rebooting it gave an error and started Windows like normal.

: Now it just reboots, goes through POST, starting windows 95, I get the Windows 95 startup screen (the one with the scrolling bar at the bottom) then, a few seconds later, it's rebooting again.

: Unstoppable loop. Anyone with real Tech knowledge here? I need a real Windows 95 Guru, there is probably a setting I have to change manually, like in an .ini file or the registry or such.

: Please, I can't get bakc into Windows at all, and reinstalling from scratch is not an option I'd like to entertain right now.

: Thanks.
