I've been using ArcadeOS/Mame on a standard monitor using and ATI card and I'm pretty happy with the results. The only problem I'm having is with some of the vertical games.
I can switch my monitor to Medium Res. I know there isn't much support for this. I picked up a Voodoo3 card and which can support the 25mhz. I know Mon-Arc supports the Voodoo3 but I don't think it can handle 25mhz.
I thought about maybe using AdvanceVBE or AdvanceVGA and setting it for 25mhz, then setting ArcadeOs to think it is using a VGA not an arcade monitor. The same thing for MAME.
I know AdvanceMAME can support a 25mhz but I need to set up the video before ArcadeOS starts.
Has anybody had any results with a 25mhz medium res monitor? If so, what specific specs do I need to do? I know there is limited support but it appears to be growing.
I know the Voodoo3 doesn't support interlacing but I figure if I can get Medium Res to work at 640 x 480 I should get the same results without interlacing.
Thanks!
