Universal Front-End?

I am looking for a frontend program that will allow me to use the joystick for selecting games and will allow me to run games from various emulators through a simple command line instruction. I also want to be able to run other programs (Internet Explorer, MP3 files) from the frontend.

Everything I have seen is very good for JUST MAME but I want something simpler looking. Any ideas?
