ArcadeOS + VSyncMame? Or some other front end?

It seems like ArcadeOS plus the built-in arcade monitor support in VSyncMame are NOT compatible.

I want to use ArcadeOS for a front end with its arcade monitor support for the front end, but I want to let VSyncMame handle the monitor stuff directly -- with ArcadeOS launching VSyncMame, it messes up the video totally.

Is there a way to get ArcadeOS to do its "arcade monitor" thing for the menu stuff only, and then let VSyncMame take over? If not, is there another front end that has arcade monitor support but WILL allow VSyncMame to handle higher resolution games, vector games, etc.?
