It sounds like I have the same setup that you do. I tried for about the first 3 months I had my mame cab to get vertical games to display the correct way but it just is not possible. There will be people who tell you it can be done but when you get right down to it you will never be able to play ms pac-man on a horizontal monitor the way you always played it in the arcade. Your best bet (you're not going to like this) is to start working on mame cab #2. This is what I am doing. I bought a 19" SVGA monitor from Office Depot for $250 and have started working on my vertical cabinet (yes, the monitor is going to be laying on it's side).
