You will probably get a hundred different opinions on this. Personally I like the Celeron for OCing... I have a 300A OC to 450 and its been running for close to two years 24/7 stock fan, default core voltage... NO problem. Dual celeron 366's OC to 533Mhz, no problems... stock fans, etc on 24/7... Just built three Celeron 633Mhz OC to 950MHz, no problem, stock fan, default core voltage. I can even run these guys in my BP6 (dual processors) at at least 950Mhz each (x2 is just gonna scream!) I've had nothing but problems with AMD since the VIA chipset... turned me right off of them... also a lot of problems with OC and certain Video cards with the new Athalons even on high quality Slot A boards. PIII OC nicely too but you can get more bang for your buck from a Celeron....

: Looks like for about $180 I can get a motherboard and cpu for the Duron 600 a celeron 566 or a pentium III 500 (100mhz bus speed).

: I am only looking for this to be my mame machine. Anyone have any preferences? I am leaning towards the pIII. I believe the duron will beat the celeron, but am unsure about the performance in straight dos of the duron versus the pIII.

: thanks for the help.
