Tom,
Sorry it's taking me so long to get my MAME cab put together. Things keep coming up at work and I've been having to work late and work weekends (fun, fun :P ). To refresh your memory, I have the exact same cab as you.

But since you now know it isn't your video card or fingerboard and the jitter happens when you have a regular JAMMA PCB connected: I thought I would mention that it doesn't jitter when I have a JAMMA board connection (A CPS2 board to be exact). You remember that pic I sent you of Aliens Vs. Predator running? Well earlier that afternoon me and my cousin played through the game and after that, I left the game running in case I wanted to come back and play some more. Well the entire time, the video never jittered. Me and my cous was rough on the controls, whooping up on some Alien tail. Still no jitter, though.

The only thing I can come up with is a loose solder or molex connection on the monitor PCB (since you've checked the molex connections under the control panel). And if you decide to discharge the monitor yourself, do be careful.

Take care,
Mark

: Thanks for the good comments LaserRot and Tom61. I think it's time for me to buy a multimeter and check the powersupply first since that's fairly easy to do. Then I guess, I'll need to get up enough courage and read about how to discharge the flyback transformer (I think that's what it's called) so that I can disconnect the pcb and look at it more closely.

: Thanks again and if you guys have any tips, please speak up. :-)

: Everyone on this forum is so helpful! :-)

: -Tom A.
