: Is there a website with good, specific details on how to wire the control panel to a KE72? Like, for example, there are three wires on each button / switch / etc. What wires run where? Some people run each wire individually, others daisy chain. If I'm making a removable CP, should I go with molex connectors or solder a custom interface to an IDE cable.

I would use an IDE or DB-25 cable. I tried a 12 pin Molex connector, and the thing was next to impossible to pull apart.

Whether or not to daisy chain the ground is really a matter of opinion. I am not going to do it. It'll be easier to debug if something goes wrong. If you daisy chain, one bad connection/wire, the whole thing doesn't work. It's like the Christmas lights where you have to check each bulb to find the bad one. The one drawback with *not* daisy chaining is a lot of wires.

I built a custom printed circuit board to help with the lots of wires problem as well as the problem of hooking up the tiny 28 gauge IDE cable wire to the buttons. The PCB has an IDE header and breaks out the pins into screw clamp strips, like the I-PAC. I'll have to post pictures (when they get developed). It makes wiring the KE-72 a breeze. I can post the board layout for those interesting in making the PCB themselves.
