some questions about IPAC

Hi,

Anyone with an IPAC, please clear up some things about the IPAC for me. I just looked over the IPAC website and some things weren't clear for me...

1) The site said that only one wire needs to be connected to each button because of some special circuitry (involving the ground?). Did I misunderstand this?

2) The price was listed $39 not including shipping. I thought that the price was forty-something and did include shipping. Is that the price in US dollars?

3) How big is the IPAC (in inches, please)?

4) The site also said that one IPAC would give 28 inputs and that two together would give 55 inputs. Is this just a typo (and it actually gives 56 inputs) or is there some technical reason that two would only give 55?

5) Are the "shift functions" mentioned on said site special functions of the IPAC or is he just talking about the "shift functions" in MAME?

And I'm also curious if anyone has put the IPAC inside a plastic or wooden box to protect it from moisture, falling objects, etc (that is, if you didn't put it inside a big arcade cabinet)?
