Couldn't you do one PS/2 and one serial?

I was planning on using an ME-4 from Hagstrom to interface to a Happ trackball via the PS/2 port (which would also make it a mouse replacement) and then hack an old serial mouse onto a Fultra Spinner. Is there any reason this won't work?
