Do you have a link to the D3100? I just checks Wells-Gardner's web page and only see the U3100.
I decided to order a U3100 so that I could play medium resolution games (like "Toobin'") which a "standard res" arcade monitor won't support, as well as vector games (Tempest!). I haven't received it yet so I can't comment on how well it works. I'm anxious to get it though!
If it is any help (it helped my decision a little :-) the "mini-cabinet" sold by ArcadePC uses a WG U3100. See the technical specs here: http://www.arcadepc.com/techincal.html
