Genecyst or KGen in a cab, questions (read on)

I just love my old Sega Megadrive/Genesis and I would like to put a Megadrive/Genesis emulator in my cabinet. I have tried bu I have some problems...

I run under pure DOS so Genecys or KGen would be preferrable emulators but how do I break out of the emulators once loaded from my front end. ESC is not quitting the emulator. Genecyst is using Alt-Q but I use an I-PAC in my cab so Alt-Q is not an option.

Any one else using KGen or Genecyst in their cabs? How did you solve the problem? Is it possible to remap or patch Genecyst or KGen to use ESC as the Exit key?
