I am using an ATI RAGE FURY with TV Out. It is a bit of overkill for mame, but when I want to run a nice Windows game, I can. I use it's SVideo out to a new 27" RCA TV. Works rather well. It isn't as crisp as my friend's monitor (20" computer monitor), but I get 27" and he only gets 18.5". He has his set for vertical only, and with mine horizontally (not rotated 90 degrees like his), I get what appears to be the same size display on vertical games (Pac Man, Donkey Kong, etc), but in horizontal games, Metal Slug, etc, mine ROCKS, his is about 5" tall.

I am glad that I spent $300 (it was $100 off) on a nice TV with SVideo. I could never get a computer, or arcade monitor that size for that price. Plus the interface to the PC was as easy as pluggin in the SVideo.

: Does just using a tv out card to a tv suck? I just don't really understand. Everyone mentions wells gardner monitors, but could I just buy a tv out card and 'out it' to my 25 inch t.v.? Would it look ok? Do I need advanced mame to get a special res? I don't wanna spend a bunch of money on a t.v. out card if it isn't worth it (I would also like to play some of my pc racing games out to a bigger screen, would it work/look ok?)

: thanks,
: foo
