mouse buttons?

Well my cabinet is only 3 weeks old and I am already redesigning the control panel. I want to minimize the buttons and was wondering, in MAME can you set the left and right mouse button to be the ESCAPE and PAUSE function?

I have the HAPPs trackball and plan to wire it up to the OPTIPAC+ when it is available. I will use the TB for games and as a mouse when I boot to Windows for maintenance.
