I took a dremel tool and ground down one side just a VERY TINY bit. It still fits on very tightly, but can now be removed with my fingers. I also tied a piece of thread to it, which is attached to the control panel, so if it goes flying, its only a few inches!
You may want to try it too, but be warned, if you grind too much, it will be worthless, and I dont know if you can get a replacement.
