The composite sync should go only through the horizontal terminal, not the vertical.
If it works, sounds good. But I don't know if there are any long-term electrical implications (excessive wear and tear).

: Red = connect your VGA Red signal
: Green = connect your VGA Green signal
: Blue = connect your VGA Blue signal
: +V.Sync = connect nothing
: +H.Sync = conenct nothing
: possible gap space
: Ground = connect VGA Ground
: -V.Sync = } Both VGA HSync and VSync
: -H.Sync = } Lead connect to -V.Sync
