The reason to use an iso is to keep you from recieving a nice shock and so you don't reverse plug a monitor and game which will create a 110v potential from the monitor frame to the game's ground.

Even the manufacturers recommended you use one with the monitors that say no isolation transformer required. They are isolated with an on-board power supply.
