I recently scored two Atari Football CP's on ebay, complete with the two 4" trackballs. These things are huge, bigger than a softball. Anyway what I think I'm going to do is actually "shrink" the trackballs down by making the holes on my new panel smaller than the originals. Get what I'm saying? How big should I make the holes? I think I want the trackballs to be relative to the size of a 3" one. I realize that the actual protruding trackball would be "flatter" than a 3 inch because of the bigger size but how big is the hole on a 3" trackball? Is it 3 inches or is that the diameter of the ball? Also, I'm really anxious to wire these up and am wondering how exactly to do it using the mouse hack method. LuSid did this but his description is a for Happ's balls and I'm not sure if mine works the same way. Any help?
