: Looks like a great job!

Thanks!

: Might consider spacing out your mame control buttons, at least your pause so you can hit it without really looking down for it.

That's why I put the pause button on the far right of the mame controls... as far away from the escape button which if pressed would suck if i was trying to pause the game.

: If your mouse buttons are only for mouse use and not arcade use, they could be smaller buttons and/or they could be moved out of the way of the trackball, say between the player 1 start and mame buttons.

I wanna be able to use it like a regular mouse with one hand to move it and click.. this way my hand won't have to travel so far.

: Since you have the mame controls on the panel I would assume that you will not have your keyboard hooked up to the cabinet. Although I have only had my cabinet up and running for 2 weeks, I use my keyboard all the time making config tweaks, loading files, etc. I have decided to go ahead and leave it connected all the time, it stores in a compartment nicely under my control panel.

I am going to wire the passthrough keyboard port just below the front right slant on the control panel so that if I do need to plug it in it's right there

: In front of each player the control panel is slanted. That looks sharp! I don't spend much time in game rooms anymore, I'm 34, I do think a lot of the 90s machines did this. My only question/comment is… are machines designed this way so that the players can stand and face the monitor at an angle instead of head on? If so should the player configuration (joystick and buttons) be slanted also?

I added the slant not just for aesthetic reasons like the hotrod controller but because I wanted to mount the trackball a little lower on the control panel so that I wouldn't have to stretch when using the mouse. so to enclose this the sland made a lot of sense.

: Can't wait to see your project.

I'll be taking pictures throughout the entire project. I'm not going to rush through it though. This controller is only the first step. It is actually going to be mounted on a cabinet that I'm laying out in autocad and 3dstudio right now. I expect to be done sometime aroung Christmas.

: Best of luck
: Bill

Thanks for your tips!!!
