I am asking because the U3000 is listed on their site for $567 and you said you can get a 27" TV for about $500 less.

I have only be able to find good 27" TVs costing a little more than $300.

: I am about to start building a mame cabinet and visited a lot of sites and got a lot of good ideas. But before I begin I have a couple of questions for you experts out there.

: I am considering building my box with a Wells-Gardner U3000 27" monitor. I was wondering how well this monitor or any other arcade monitor handles the different resolutions. The specs on this monitor say it suppor+ts graphics modes of 640 X 200, 640x350, 640x480. A lot of the games I play run at unusual resolutions like 384x224 and 256x240. I just want to make sure that I can run these games full screen or at least close to it.

: I was also considering going with a 27" tv with svga inputs because these run about $500 less than the wells gardner 27". My question, how much difference is there between the Wells Gardner 27" and a 27" tv connected via a svga input. Also can a tv connected via SVGA handle different resolutions well or is that handled by the graphics card? One more: what is a good graphics card with s-video out that doesn't have to have a vga monitor attached? is this even possible when running pure dos?

: Another question I has is there is a computer out on the market called the book pc. this little thing has a built in sound card, video card, network card, s-video out, cd-rom, floppy. all I would need is a celeron processor, hard drive, and a stick of ram. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this machine and mame. If so how is the s-video out?

: Thanks for any help.
