Many of my games don't have customizable controls so I needed the ability to program the controller itself. I set up multiple templates for my ke72 just as I do with my Phoenix and switch in a batchfile before launching the game. This lets me do cool things like make all my space sims have weapons, wingman commands, etc. in the same locations despite being very different games.
My game collection is huge (sometimes it even surprises me) and no fixed setting controller could possibly suit them all.
Like I said before I am sure the I-Pac is great, it just didn't suit my very generalized needs. :)
