My first cabinet used a Gravis Firebird, which was the successor to the Phoenix. It is the same except it did not have the 'arm' on the left, but the throttle and buttons were on the base instead. I found plenty of nice solder points, and the thing works great. I haven't seen one in a while, but it may be easier to find.

: Four player cabinet. Plus I wanted extra buttons to be able to play things like X-Wing and the Wing Commander games. The I-PAC's shift function is very nice and something I wish the ke72 had. My gravis Phoenix has a similar function in that any button can be configured to switch all the other buttons from primary to secondary functions.
: Personally I think the Phoenix would be the ultimate hack (better than a power ramp) with 46 programmable functions and an analog stick with a throttle and rudder both that can be analog or digital (switchable in software!), but you can not find them anymore.
