Why ke72 was the choice for me...

Four player cabinet. Plus I wanted extra buttons to be able to play things like X-Wing and the Wing Commander games. The I-PAC's shift function is very nice and something I wish the ke72 had. My gravis Phoenix has a similar function in that any button can be configured to switch all the other buttons from primary to secondary functions.
Personally I think the Phoenix would be the ultimate hack (better than a power ramp) with 46 programmable functions and an analog stick with a throttle and rudder both that can be analog or digital (switchable in software!), but you can not find them anymore.

: The I-PAC is not programmable (but I know that Andy is working on a programmable prototype) and has fewer inputs than the KE-72 (I-PAC has 28 and KE-72 has 72), that is right. BUT I-PAC has shift keys and that will give you 34 keys in auto mode. I prefer the I-PAC because of the shift keys. I-PAC is designed for 1 joystick and 8 buttons per player + 2 start and 2 coin buttons (and that is enough). You don’t need additional buttons for maintenance functions like TAB, ENTER, TILDE, PAUSE, ESC etc with the I-PAC. They are already there as shift keys (e.g. 1 player start + 2 player start = ESC). The KE-72 is a great product but I find I-PAC better suited for my cabinet project. It made it possible for me to remove additional buttons that would have made the cabinet look less like the real thing.

: : Well I have a Ke72-T and not an I-PAC but I think it depends on what you are looking for...
: : The ke72 has more inputs and is programmable but much more expensive.
: : The I-PAC is has fewer inputs and is non-programmable (I think, someone correct me if I am wrong here), but much cheaper.
: : So it all depends on what you want. If you feel you need those extra inputs and don't mind spending the money the ke72 is good, otherwise the I-PAC is a good way to go.
: : Supers vs. Ultimates: There is a thread below about this that in a nutshell recommends the Ultimates but my personal preference is for the Supers. I think they feel better. Both are good sticks though.

: : : I am building just a control panel (like the hotrod) and wanted to know two things:
: : : Which is better the I-pac or KE72?\

: : : What is better Happs Ultimate or Super joystick (all of the arcades use ultimate but I have heard super is better.
