I got the IPAC because it cost less and it is easy to install. All the terminals are marked for the mame buttons. It has 28 separate inputs which was enough for me to have 2 sticks with 8 buttons each and 2 separate insert coin buttons and player 1 and 2 start buttons. All you have to do is connect wires from the buttons to the premarked terminals, plug it into the PC and you are in business!

This is definitely a lot cheaper if you won't be installing a trackball. If you will install a trackball you will need to buy a separate interface for it. I plan to get the OPTIPAC+ from Andy when it is ready in late September. The KE72T has trackball support built in, but the OPTIPAC+ & IPAC approach is still cheaper.

Andy is great about answering questions on installing his products. Not sure how hagstrom would be.

Oh I also liked the idea of using the LED harness with the IPAC for old games like asteroids that had flashing lights for player 1 and 2 start. MAME uses the num lock and caps lock off the keyboard for this and for $15 Andy has made this a plug and play addition.

Good Luck!

: I am building just a control panel (like the hotrod) and wanted to know two things:
: Which is better the I-pac or KE72?\

: What is better Happs Ultimate or Super joystick (all of the arcades use ultimate but I have heard super is better.
