: -what would be the best minimum req system for Xmen, TMNT, simpsons?
---------------------------------
ANSWER: Don't know as I don't play these games. Hopefully someone else will be able to help with this.

: -Would a keyboard hack give me problems running 2-player versions of these games?
-----------------------------------
ANSWER: while you might be able to map around the keyboard ghosting problem, I would think it would be a challenge. I hacked my first control panel with 1 stick and 6 buttons no problem but when I built my 2 stick 19 button cabinet, I went with the IPAC and am glad I did. Andy has been great to work with.

: -What should i expect the cost to be for a system that runs these games (cab parts and playing parts only, no decoration yet)?
--------------------------------------------
ANSWER: If you want to keep costs down, I would suggest that you locate a used cabinet that you can get for 50 or 100 dollars or maybe even free. If it doesn't work that is fine but if it has a working monitor you will really cut down on costs. Might also get some working controls out of the deal as well. And you could possibly sell the PCB and/or marquee on EBAY or the Marketplace here to recoup some costs.

If you build yourself here are some possible costs (estimates)...
2 joysticks $22
? buttons $1.50 each
3 sheets of wood $45
other wood, 2x2s, etc $10
Plexiglas $20
Paint/brushes $20
Screws/bolts/hinges $20
Marquee light $10
Marquee printed on color paper - free to $10
monitor bezel - $1 to $10
Power strip/extension cord $20
Wire/solder/terminal conectors/terminal strips $20
Monitor - free to $400
1 1/8 drill bit and jig saw blades $6
sand paper $4
speaker system if you don't use PC speakers $???

Hope this helps. I dumped some pics of the cabinet I built on a page with some rough text below. I will be fixing the site up to be more user friendly in a couple of days.

Good Luck!!!

: Thanx for any help I can get!
