: : I am thinking about a 3" trackball, btw. I want something that I can give a good spin to...

Believe it or not - The smaller Tracballs spin faster.

Also - some interesting findings...

I found that they sell this 'Electronic Component Cleaner' at Radio Shack. This stuff will dramatically speed your bearings up!

Take a bearing out, and hold it on your fingertip. Now dribble a good dose of the cleaner on the bearing top. Let it sink in for about 10 seconds. Now - Hold it between 2 fingers and spin in like madd! :) Do this for about 20seconds. Repeat this one more time on that side, then do the other side as well.

By the 4th clean cycle... this stuff will have 'aten' all of the gook, dust, and junk inside the bearing. It also has an incredible Lubricant!!! And it will last quite a long time!

I made a rusted set of bearings spin for like 8 seconds after a few cleaning sets :)

THe stuff works great on anything thats mechanical. Its good for cleaning greesy parts and other stuff too.

Be aware - its expensive. $10 for a tiny can... but you need so little that it will last a Long time. Also - for those who want Great spin times, its Well worth it.

Sincerely,
Steve
:)

PS: Happ Trackball all the way. Make sure to get the Black Metal Plate & Bolts w/ nuts.
