: I ended up finding some buttons in my local electronics store when I was out buying ICs, and since I didn't currently know anywhere else other than mail order to get them, I grabbed some...and although they're OK, they aren't what I would expect...
: Every button I've ever pushed in an arcade felt...well..I guess like a leaf switch, and these being micro switches, vertical mount, other than the irritating click upon pressing (but not releasing), they feel stiff to me, like I have to really bang them to feel like I'm getting anywhere, unlike the arcade buttons I'm used to. So how do the Happ buttons feel compared to my description and to the normal arcade feel? And has anyone ever compared horizontal to vertical switch mounting? I don't know what the difference could be for feel...

Well, there is a definite "click" with the Happ microswitched buttons, but I honestly like it. To me, it lets me know that the button is hit. And I don't feel at all that I have to hammer on them; I can feel (not hear) the click in my fingertips, so I'm able to use a very light hand if I want to. Of course, it depends on the game...in Track & Field, I'm full-palm slapping the bejeezus out of the buttons. But I like the feel of them: they don't require heavy banging, but they can stand up to it. Just my $0.02 though.

As far as horizontal- vs vertical-switch mounting goes, take a look at
http://www.arcadecontrols.com/arcade_controls.shtml#buttons .

Hope this helps!
