: Is there a way to post an HTML or Word file to the message board? I think I figured out a way to connect two joysticks to MAME through the gameport for $20.00 including the joysticks and without soldering, but I can't really explain it using plain text.
: I also won't have details until next week.
I tried reading the FAQ but it only says the best way to find out is to try so this is an html test:
But even if HTML tags will work, there's no way to attach pictures or other separate files, they'd have to be located in some kind of site directory and referenced in the html posting here. Word documents are out as well, no file attachments.
You could go sign up for some free web space somewhere like Geocities or Fortunecity or Xoom and dump the file(s) there and post the url...or you can email it to someone who can do that for you.
What exactly does this type of project involve, just two joysticks with the 4 direction switches per player each, or any buttons too? And based on the method used, does this mean that MAME would be using its joystick input instead of keyboard keys to
accept the controls from the port?
Such a device could save people money on keyboard encoders provided it would allow enough required inputs and MAME's joystick support could adequately remap the keys. I don't remember the maximum number of joystick buttons that MAME supports though.
