No i havent got the joysticks yet. I am trying to figure out what to do, before i spend the cash. As i said i would like rotating sticks if they will work properly. I was going to but an I-Pac for the controls, and an Opti-pac for my trackball.

I have a cabinet already, but havent totally finshed the layout for the panel yet. If i can use dual rotating sticks with your encoder along with the others, i might consider it. But another thing is, do i want a total of three different boards? I am almost convinced to buy the one from Happ Controls that lets you hook it all up. Only problem is I don't think you can use rotating sticks with theirs. i'm not sure.

What to do...oh geez.

: It works exactly like normal arcade buttons or the normal joystick up down left right switches. The output screw terminals on this device are as follows:

: One pair of terminals to connect +5v and Ground for power
: One pair of terminals to connect anywhere a normal button or joystick switch would connect to trigger any keyboard encoder button for activating any MAME key you wish (set it up as the player 1 left Dial keystroke)
: One pair of terminals to connect to any keyboard interface set up for the MAME dial Right (player 1)
: One pair of terminals to connect to any keyboard interface set up for MAME dial player 2 left
: One pair of terminals to connect to any keyboard interface set up for MAME dial player 2 right

: So basically the 4 pairs of terminals that are meant to connect to the keyboard interface....are exactly like arcade buttons with 2 wires each, and will connect to anything you want, a light bulb to turn it on when you rotate the joystick, a keyboard encoder with a common ground, or a keybaord encoder with a matrix configuration, anything that a normal 2 wire switch would connect to. I made my own keyboard encoder with a common ground type since I didn't need so many buttons to use a matrix, and I connect the device terminals with one of each terminal pair to ground and the other of each terminal to the desired input that is set to send the dial rotate keystrokes.
: All it does is short circuit the pair of terminals (close the switch) and then open it again, for the 4 outputs. If you want you can hook it up to the encoder so that the rotate triggers other keys. Right now I have player 1 set up to do a normal rotate left and right, and since I don't need 2 player support for myself, I have the player 2 joystick set up so that rotate-right inserts a coin and rotate-left presses player 1 start, so I twist both ways on player 2 to start a new game on player 1.

: Do you already have a keyboard encoder and/or rotary joysticks and/or a control panel or cabinet? And/or what games do you want to play with rotary control? I can tell you exactly how to do it.
: Someone said you can get the authentic SNK rotary joysticks for $9.95 which is cheaper than the $39 Happ clones. I saw a site offering the originals also for $9.95 saying they're brand new. I wish I knew about that before I bought my SNK joysticks on Ebay.
