Its an excellent choice for a MAME cabinet. It has like a 0.71 dot pitch (the 19" one), so Windows will look fuzzy or blurred, but will work. If I remember correctly, .71 is pretty much standard for most 19+ inch arcade monitors, give or take a little. looks like a arcade monitor. (wellsgardner.com ? I think).
The downside (and this is just my opinion)... It has no way to run a Jamma harness to it, if you want to play Jamma games with it (Which is an excellent benefit for wanting the "real" thing as the PCB's can be picked up on EBAY dirt cheap at times. Sure, you can probably spend another 175 dollars as someone else suggested (cant remember) for a converter. but that pushes the price up very high, not to mention a lot of headaches). If all you want is a mame cabinet... the u3100 is gold in the coffer, and prolly the best (comes with puter cable). a Jamma/Mame cabinet... gonna run into a little extra cash to get it going.

: I have not seen an answer to this anywhere on the board, how does the U3100 compare to an actual arcade monitor.?

: ie, Does it look like a 19 inch PC monitor, or a nicely fuzzy 1980's arcade monitor? I have been considering purchasing one, but I want the arcade look and feel, not the "Playing blocky Galaga on my .26 dp 19 PC monitor feel"

: TIA
